Refer Other Speakers

Three ways to refer speakers to Fanflet. Track invites end-to-end and earn reputation tiers tied to activations.

Why this exists

A warm intro from a working speaker carries more weight than any ad Fanflet runs. When you bring another speaker in, your name appears as their inviter, your audience benefits from a more polished platform alongside the speakers you respect, and Fanflet thanks you back with recognition tiers and Pro time. Refer Speakers in your sidebar opens the hub where the whole loop lives.

Three ways to refer

The Share Fanflet card on the referrals page has three tabs. Pick the one fitting how you want to reach the person.

  • Email invite. A personal one-on-one intro. You enter their name, email, and a short note. Fanflet sends them an email with you as the inviter.
  • Share link & QR. One stable URL belongs to you. Drop it in newsletters, slides, or group DMs. Print the QR on a handout.
  • LinkedIn. A prefilled composer for cold outreach to your professional network. One click opens LinkedIn with the post text and your share link ready.

Email invite, step by step

1

Open the Email invite tab

From the sidebar, click Refer Speakers. The Email invite tab is selected by default.

2

Fill in the form

Enter their name (optional, up to 120 characters), their email (required), and a personal note (optional, up to 500 characters). Fanflet prefills a sensible note for you. Edit it freely or rewrite it.

3

Click Send invite

The button shows Sending... while the action runs. On success, the form clears and a confirmation appears next to the button. The invite shows up on your referral wall below.

4

Their inbox

Your invitee receives an email with you listed as the inviter, your personal note quoted inside, and a tracking link back to their signup page. Their click flips the row to Clicked on your wall.

Write the note like a peer

Speakers respond to other speakers, not to marketing copy. The default note works. A line of context about where you met or what their audience looks like works better.

Your reusable share link

The Share link & QR tab generates one URL tied to your account. The link is fixed, so you reuse it forever. Every visit, signup, and activation traces back to you.

The URL takes the form fanflet.com/i/<your-code>. The code is an 8-character lowercase string with ambiguous characters stripped out. Click Copy next to the link to grab it.

Good places to drop the link:

  • Your speaker newsletter footer.
  • The closing slide of your deck.
  • A pinned post in your speaker community group chat.
  • The bottom of your speaker handout PDF.

The hallway QR loop

The same share link renders as a downloadable QR on the Share link & QR tab. The use case is conferences. You print the QR on the back of your handout, on a tradeshow card, or pin it to the greenroom whiteboard. Every speaker who scans lands on a branded Fanflet signup page with your name on it. No app install. No friction.

QR codes survive your share link

Your share code never rotates while it stays active. A QR you printed last quarter still resolves to the right page next year.

LinkedIn compose

1

Open the LinkedIn tab

The tab loads with a prefilled post body and your share link already inserted. Edit the copy in the textarea to fit your voice.

2

Click Open LinkedIn composer

A new tab opens LinkedIn’s share-offsite composer with your text and link prefilled. LinkedIn lets you tweak it once more before posting.

3

Post it

Hit Post on LinkedIn. Every click on your link from the post flows through to your referral wall the same way an email invite does.

Your referral wall

The bottom card on the referrals page is your wall. Four tiles run across the top.

  • Invites sent. Total outbound invites you have logged across email and link methods.
  • Clicked. The number who landed on the signup page after tapping your link.
  • Signed up. The number who finished signup with you as the inviter.
  • Activated. The number who published their first fanflet. This is the count Fanflet rewards on.

Below the tiles, a table lists every individual referral with five status values:

  • Sent. The invite is out. They have not clicked yet.
  • Clicked. They visited the signup page through your link.
  • Signed up. They created a Fanflet account and the referral is locked to you.
  • Activated. They published a fanflet. You earned the activation.
  • Revoked or Expired. The invite no longer counts.

Activation-gated tiers

Your tier reflects the count of activated referrals, not invites or signups. Speakers who never publish a fanflet do not count. Four tiers open up as activations stack.

  • Connector at 1 activation. Your first connection. One month of Pro on the house.
  • Ambassador at 3 activations. Three speakers brought into the fold. Three months of Pro.
  • Headliner at 5 activations. People listen when you recommend a tool. Six months of Pro.
  • Luminary at 10 activations. Top tier. Twelve months of Pro and a permanent badge.

The ask card at the top of the referrals page shows your current tier as a small pill, plus the count of activations remaining to reach the next tier.

Activations are durable

Once a referral activates, the count stays. Tiers do not decay if someone closes their account later.

Revoking a pending invite

You sent the wrong email. They asked you to take it back. Whatever the reason, every row on your wall in Sent or Clicked status shows a small Revoke link on the right side. Click it, confirm, and the row flips to Revoked. The tracking link stops working.

Once it converts, it sticks

Fanflet refuses to revoke a referral after it reaches Signed up or Activated. By then the relationship is real and the rewards are earned.

What “activated” means

A referred speaker activates the moment they publish their first fanflet. Signup alone does not count. The bar is set this way on purpose. A speaker who only kicks the tires is not the same as a speaker who runs Fanflet at a real event. The activation count is the one Fanflet pays out tier rewards against.
