Plans, Billing, and Promo Codes

Compare Free, Pro, and Studio. Manage your subscription, redeem promo codes, and resolve entitlement drift.

The four speaker plans

Fanflet has three public plans for speakers and one invitation-only tier. Each plan ships with a fixed set of feature flags and limits that the dashboard reads to decide what you see and what you build.

Free

The default tier on signup. Three fanflets, three resources per fanflet, link-based resources only (no file uploads), one survey per fanflet, and content expires after 30 days. Free is built so you take a fanflet through one full event before deciding whether to upgrade.

Pro

25 fanflets, 10 resources each, file uploads up to 50 MB with 1 GB total storage, the speaker landing page, email capture, full click-through analytics, theme and color customization, personalized URLs, and MCP API access. Pro is the working tier for an active speaker.

Studio

Unlimited fanflets and resources, 250 MB file uploads with 10 GB storage, the option to keep content live with no expiration, tracked sponsors, analytics export, multi-profile support up to 10 profiles, priority support, and a dedicated account manager. Studio was named Enterprise before April 2026.

Early Access (invitation only)

Pro-equivalent caps with extras like tracked sponsors, granted at no cost to a small group of speakers helping shape the product. You enter Early Access by redeeming a personal promo code at signup. The team grants codes one at a time after a short application.

Free is the default on signup

As of May 2026, every new speaker account lands on the Free plan unless a promo code overrides it. Earlier copy described Early Access as the default tier. That framing is gone. Free is the on-ramp, Pro is the upgrade, Studio is the ceiling, and Early Access is reserved for invited speakers.

Choosing a plan and upgrading

Upgrades happen inside the dashboard. You never type a card number into Fanflet. Stripe handles every step that touches payment.

1

Open the billing tab

Click your avatar at the bottom of the left sidebar, choose Settings, and switch to the Billing tab. You also reach this screen by visiting /dashboard/billing, which redirects to the same place.

2

Pick a plan

The Available Plans card lists every plan you are not currently on, with monthly and yearly pricing. Click Upgrade on the one you want.

3

Complete checkout in Stripe

Fanflet hands you off to a Stripe Checkout session pre-filled with your email. Enter your card details and confirm. Pro and Studio start with a free trial when one is configured for the plan.

4

Land back on a confirmed billing page

Stripe sends you back to /dashboard/billing?checkout=success. Your new plan, limits, and feature flags are live before the page finishes loading. Webhooks from Stripe write the subscription record into Fanflet, so the change sticks even if you close the tab during checkout.

Yearly billing costs less

Yearly billing is cheaper than paying month to month. Pick your billing interval on the Pricing page or inside Stripe Checkout.

Managing your subscription

Once you are on a paid plan, the billing tab shows a Manage billing button that opens the Stripe Customer Portal in a new tab. The portal is where you handle everything Stripe owns:

  • Update or replace the card on file
  • Switch between monthly and yearly billing
  • Move between Pro and Studio
  • Download invoices and receipts as PDF
  • Cancel the subscription

Changes you make in the portal sync back through Stripe webhooks. The dashboard reflects them on the next page load.

Cancel at period end versus immediate cancel

Stripe gives you two cancel paths. Pick the one that matches what you want to happen to your audience.

Cancel at period end

You keep every paid feature until the end of the billing period you already paid for. Active fanflets stay live, analytics keep recording, files stay downloadable, and your speaker page keeps its custom URL. On the renewal date, the plan drops to Free and the limits in this article take effect.

Immediate cancel

The subscription ends right away and the account drops to Free within minutes. Fanflets above the Free cap of 3 stay in your library but become read-only until you delete enough to fit under the limit. Files above the Free quota are retained for 30 days, then archived. Use immediate cancel only if you need billing to stop today.

Both paths preserve your data

A cancel does not delete your fanflets, subscribers, or analytics. Re-subscribing restores everything to the cap of the plan you re-enter.

Promo codes at signup

Promo codes redeem at the moment you create your account, not after. On the signup form, click Have a promo code?, paste the code, and submit. The platform validates the code against four rules before accepting it: the code exists, it has not expired, it has remaining uses, and (for personal codes) the email on the form matches the email the code was issued to.

A valid code does three things on signup:

  • Places your account on the plan attached to the code (most often Early Access, sometimes Pro)
  • Marks the subscription as complimentary so Stripe never charges you
  • Increments the code’s usage counter so you cannot redeem it twice

A complimentary subscription stays active until someone on the team ends it, the code carries an expiration date that has passed, or you choose to switch to a paid Pro or Studio plan.

Codes do not redeem after signup

Fanflet has no field on the billing page for entering a promo code. If you signed up without one, contact support and we will issue a new code or apply the override server-side.

Early Access

Early Access is the program for experienced speakers helping us build Fanflet. You get Pro-equivalent caps, tracked sponsors, and direct access to the team. There is no public sign-up flow.

To request Early Access:

1

Apply from the pricing page

On fanflet.com/pricing, scroll to the Early Access Program callout and click Apply for Early Access. The form asks for your name, email, and a few sentences about your speaking schedule and the events you run.

2

Wait for an invite code

The team reviews each application and emails a personal promo code if you are a fit. The code is tied to the email address you applied with, so it only redeems for you.

3

Sign up with the code

Visit fanflet.com/signup, click Have a promo code?, paste your code, and create the account. Your dashboard opens on the Early Access tier.

The entitlement-drift indicator

Each subscription stores a snapshot of the feature flags and limits that applied when the plan was assigned. When the team adds a new feature to your plan, your snapshot lags behind the live plan definition until you refresh. The billing tab shows a yellow Out of sync banner inside the Current Plan card when this happens.

Click Refresh entitlements on the banner. The action rewrites your snapshot from the live plan and tells you what changed. A refresh is safe to run any time, with or without a banner showing.

Drift is one-way

Drift only shows when your snapshot is missing things the live plan has. The reverse case (snapshot has more than the live plan) is handled by automated downgrade jobs and never produces a banner you have to act on.

The dashboard reads these values from your subscription record in real time. Hitting a limit shows an inline message in the affected editor, not a hard error.

What happens if your card fails

Stripe attempts a charge when your subscription renews. If the card fails, Stripe enters a retry cycle and the subscription moves to a past due status. Your account stays on the paid plan during the retry window.

Stripe emails you on every failed attempt with a link to update the card. The fastest fix is to open Manage billing from the billing tab and replace the card directly. Once the next attempt succeeds, the subscription returns to active and you keep the same plan and limits with no gap.

If every retry fails, Stripe ends the subscription and your account drops to Free. Fanflets above the Free cap stay in the library read-only until you re-subscribe or trim the list.

Receipts and invoices

Stripe stores every invoice for the lifetime of your account. To find one:

1

Open the customer portal

From the billing tab, click Manage billing.

2

Scroll to Invoice history

Each row shows the date, amount, plan, and status. Click Download to grab a PDF receipt suitable for expense reports.

3

Update billing details if you need to

Tax ID, billing address, and company name go on the invoice you download next, not the ones you already have. Edit them in the portal’s Billing information section before your next renewal.
