Audience Portal: Saved Fanflets and Following

What attendees experience after subscribing. The Saved tab, Following tab, settings, and the SMS bookmark flow.

When you subscribe from a fanflet, Fanflet creates a personal portal for you at /my. Your saved fanflets live there, the speakers you follow live there, and your notification settings live there. No second password to remember. You sign in with a magic link to your email.

Who This Is For

The audience portal is for attendees. If you scanned a QR code at an event, dropped your email on a speaker page, or saved a fanflet to come back to later, this is your home.

Speakers have their own dashboard at /dashboard. If you publish fanflets, read the speaker getting started guide instead.

What You Get When You Subscribe

Subscribing on any fanflet gives you a portal account on the same email. There is no separate sign-up step.

1

You drop your email on a fanflet

Tap subscribe on any published fanflet. Your email is recorded against the speaker.
2

A confirmation email lands in your inbox

The email confirms your subscription and points back to the speaker's resources.
3

Your portal is ready

Visit /my from any device. Sign in with a magic link to your email and your saved fanflets, follows, and settings load right up.

No password to manage

Audience accounts use email magic links. Each sign-in sends a one-click link to your inbox. Open the link on the device you want to stay signed in on.

The Saved Tab

Saved is the default tab. It holds every fanflet you have bookmarked, newest first. Each card shows the speaker, the talk title, the event name and date, and how many resources are inside.

  • Open. Tap View Resources to jump back into the full fanflet page.
  • Filter by speaker. Chips at the top let you narrow the feed to one speaker you follow.
  • Sort. Toggle between newest first and oldest first.
  • Status badges. Live, Expired, and Unavailable badges tell you whether the fanflet is still reachable. Expired cards stay in your portfolio as a record of the talk.

Saved is your event memory

Saved fanflets do not vanish when an event ends. Even if a fanflet expires, the card stays so you remember what you collected.

The Following Tab

When you save a fanflet, you start following the speaker automatically. Every published fanflet from a followed speaker pings you.

The Following tab lists each speaker you follow with their fanflet count, last shared date, and a profile link. Tap Following to unfollow. Tap View profile to jump to their public speaker page.

  • Auto-follow on save. Saving a fanflet adds the speaker to Following.
  • Unfollow per speaker. Stop notifications from one speaker without affecting the others.
  • Re-follow anytime. Toggle the button back on if you change your mind.

The Settings Tab

Settings holds your profile, notification preferences, and account deletion controls.

Profile

Set a display name speakers see when you save or subscribe. Your email is fixed to the address you signed up with.

Notification Preferences

Choose how often you hear about new fanflets from speakers you follow:

  • Instant. Get an email the moment a followed speaker publishes.
  • Daily digest. One email per day with everything new.
  • Off. Skip email entirely. In-app notifications on the portal still work.

Delete Account

A red Delete my account button starts a confirmation flow. You type your email to confirm. From there, deletion runs on a 30-day grace window before anything is removed.

Bookmark by SMS Without an Account

Some fanflets show a phone number with an SMS bookmark prompt. Drop your phone number into the form and Fanflet texts you a link to the fanflet. No account needed. The link works on the device the text arrived on, so you keep the resources without setting anything up.

  • One link per request. The text contains the fanflet title and the URL.
  • Rate-limited. Two SMS per phone per fanflet per day, to keep things tidy.
  • Privacy first. Your number is hashed before storage. Speakers do not see raw phone numbers from SMS bookmarks.

SMS does not create a portal account

The SMS bookmark is a one-shot delivery of the link. You opt in to following the speaker by replying or by subscribing with your email on the fanflet.

Email Subscribe Creates a Portal Account

Email subscribe and portal access share the same identity. The email you drop on a fanflet is the email you sign in with at /my. There is no separate password. Click Sign in, request the magic link, open it, and you land in your portal.

If you subscribe to multiple speakers from the same email, every save and every follow rolls up into the one portal.

Account Deletion and the 30-Day Grace Window

When you confirm deletion in Settings, your account enters a 30-day grace state. During those 30 days you reverse the deletion by signing back in. After 30 days, your account, saved fanflets, and follow records are removed.

  • Removed. Your audience account, saved fanflets list, follow relationships, and notification preferences.
  • Preserved. Anonymous analytics events stay with the speaker and the platform. They do not link back to you.

Cancellation window is exact

Sign in within 30 days to cancel. After the grace window closes, the deletion runs and the data is gone.

Privacy: What Speakers See, What You See

The data shared between you and a speaker is narrow on both sides.

  • The speaker sees. Your email, your optional display name, the fanflet you subscribed from, and the timestamp.
  • The speaker does not see. Your saved fanflet list, your other follows, your device, your IP, or your location.
  • You see.The speaker's public profile: name, photo, bio, social links, and their published fanflets.

Analytics events on a fanflet are anonymous. A click on a resource does not get tied back to your audience account.

For Speakers Reading This

If you publish fanflets and want to understand the experience your subscribers see, read subscribers and list building. It covers the speaker side: how subscriptions roll into your subscriber list, how confirmation emails work, and how follower notifications go out when you publish.
