Creating Your First Fanflet
A step-by-step guide to building your first resource page with links, files, and sponsor blocks.
Create a New Fanflet
Start a new fanflet
From your dashboard, click Create New Fanflet or navigate directly to /dashboard/fanflets/new.
Fill in the basics
Enter the key details for your fanflet:
- Title— the name of your resource page (e.g., “AACD 2026 Resources”).
- Event Name— the conference or event where you're presenting.
- Event Date— when the event takes place.
- Slug— the URL path for this fanflet (auto-generated from the title, but editable).
- Expiration— when the fanflet should expire and become inaccessible.
The Fanflet Editor
The editor uses a two-panel layout. On the left, you'll configure fanflet details like themes, survey questions, and sponsor settings. On the right, you'll build your resource list by adding blocks. Each block represents a resource your audience can access.
Adding Resource Blocks
Fanflets support four types of resource blocks. Click Add Block and choose the type that fits your content:
Link
Point to any URL—slides on Google Drive, a YouTube video, a blog post, or an external resource. Add a title and optional description.
File
Upload a file (PDF, image, document) directly to Fanflet. Attendees can download it from your fanflet page.
Text
Add a text block for notes, instructions, or context between resources. Great for section headers or additional commentary.
Sponsor
Feature a connected sponsor's resource. This block displays the sponsor's branding and attributes leads to them. You must have an active sponsor connection to use this block type.
Use your resource library
Choosing a Theme
Themes control the colors and visual style of your public fanflet page. Select a theme from the left panel of the editor to preview how it looks.
Publishing and Sharing
Toggle publish
When you're happy with your fanflet, flip the Publish toggle. Your fanflet will go live immediately at its public URL.
Share the link
Your public URL follows the pattern fanflet.com/your-slug/fanflet-slug. Copy the link and share it in your presentation, slide deck, or event materials.
Download your QR code
Every published fanflet gets a branded QR code. Download it as PNG or SVG from the QR code page and add it to your slides, handouts, or event signage. Attendees scan it and land directly on your resource page.
Content Expiration
Set an expiration date to automatically make your fanflet inaccessible after an event. Expired fanflets show a friendly message instead of the resource list.
Tips for a Great Fanflet
- •Keep it focused.5–8 resources is the sweet spot. Too many options can overwhelm your audience.
- •Use descriptive titles.“Slides: Implant Workflow Protocol” is better than “Slides.pdf.”
- •Put the most important resources first. Attendees engage most with the top of the list.
- •Add a sponsor block if you have an active sponsor connection. It gives your sponsor visibility and attributes leads.
- •Set an expiration date for event-specific content. This keeps your public pages clean and signals urgency to attendees.
- •Use library items for resources you reuse across events. Update once, propagate everywhere.
