Connecting with Sponsors

Browse the sponsor directory, request connections, and attribute any block to a connected sponsor.

What a Sponsor Connection Is

A sponsor connection is a two-way relationship between you and a company on Fanflet. Once the sponsor accepts your request, two things open up. You see their published library items in your Add Block picker and place them in any fanflet. Any block you attribute to them, even one you built yourself, rolls up engagement to their dashboard.

The connection is the trust layer. The sponsor controls which resources you have access to. You control which fanflets feature their brand and which blocks point at them.

Plan requirement

Sponsor connections require Pro or Studio. The feature is gated by the sponsor_visibility flag. Free speakers see a plan upgrade prompt on the sponsor connections page.

Browsing the Sponsor Directory

Open sponsor connections. The directory lists every verified sponsor on Fanflet who is open to new speaker partnerships.

The search bar filters by company name, industry, or sponsor handle. Each row shows the logo, the company, the industry tag, and a short description.

If you know a sponsor by their handle but they are not in the public list, click the Have a sponsor handle? Connect manually link below the directory and enter their URL directly.

Sending a Connection Request

1

Click Connect on a sponsor row

The connection dialog opens with a preview of the sponsor on top and a preview of your speaker profile below. The sponsor sees your name, photo, and bio when the request lands in their portal.

2

Add an optional message

A default note is prefilled. Replace it with something specific about the event, audience, or why their resources fit your fanflet. A short, real message lifts acceptance rates.

3

Send the request

Click Send request. The sponsor sees a pending request in their connections inbox with your profile and message. The row appears in your connections list with a Pending badge.

4

Wait for the sponsor to accept

When the sponsor accepts, the badge flips to Active and their published library items show up in your Add Block picker. If the sponsor declines, the row stays in your list as Declined and you hide it from view.

Cancel a pending request

If you change your mind before the sponsor responds, click Cancel request on the pending row. The request is withdrawn and the sponsor no longer sees it.

Tracked Sponsors Are a Different Path

When the company you want to feature is not on Fanflet at all, you do not send a connection request. You create a tracked sponsor record and attribute blocks to it. Read tracked sponsors for the full off-platform flow.

Using a Sponsor's Library Items

Once a connection is active, the sponsor's published catalog is accessible from your resource library and from the Add Block picker inside any fanflet. Their items carry their branding, their links, and their tracking out of the box.

The sponsor connections page shows a count next to each active connection, like 6 available resources. Click the count to jump straight to their items in your resource library.

Drop the item into a fanflet and the block is fully attributed to the sponsor automatically. Engagement on it rolls up to their dashboard from the first scan.

Attributing Your Own Blocks to a Sponsor

Attribution is not limited to items pulled from the sponsor library. Any block you build yourself, link, file, text, or sponsor banner, carries an Attribute to sponsor dropdown in the block editor.

Pick a connected sponsor from the dropdown. Clicks, downloads, and info requests on the block now record under that sponsor's name in their dashboard. The audience-facing block looks the same. The rollup happens behind the scenes.

Pick None to remove attribution. The block keeps working. Engagement stops flowing to the sponsor.

Where the dropdown lives

Open any fanflet, edit a block, and look for the Attribute to sponsor field. The dropdown only renders when you have at least one active sponsor connection.

Sponsor Block vs Attribution

The dedicated Sponsor block type is a branded banner. It shows the sponsor logo, a short message, and a CTA button. Use it when you want the sponsor front and center, like a thank-you slot at the top of the fanflet.

Attribution on a regular link or file block is the opposite. The block looks like any other resource on the page. The sponsor gets credit for the engagement without dominating the layout. Mix the two based on what you owe the sponsor and what your audience needs from the page.

What the Sponsor Sees

Your connection lands in the sponsor's portal as a pending row with your profile and message. Once accepted, the connection appears in their speaker list, every block you attribute to them feeds their analytics, and any leads captured on those blocks land in their lead inbox. Read sponsor portal overview for what their side looks like.

Ending a Connection

When the relationship runs its course, click End connection on the active row. New click and lead data stops flowing to the sponsor as of that moment. Historical data stays visible to both of you for reporting.

Existing blocks attributed to the sponsor keep the attribution on the public fanflet until you swap them. Past engagement remains credited to the sponsor. Future engagement on those blocks is no longer recorded against the connection.

To remove the row from your list after it ends, click Hide from list. The data is retained for reporting. Reach out to support if you need to see the row again.

Seat-backed connections

If the connection is managed through a sponsor seat, the End connection button is disabled. Use Leave sponsored account from your settings instead. The sponsor row shows a Managed by sponsor label when this applies.

Control what sponsors see

Sponsors see analytics only for the fanflets they are part of. Two paths determine whether a fanflet is shared with a sponsor.

Auto-share via resource. When you add a sponsor's resource block to a fanflet, that fanflet's analytics flow to the sponsor automatically. No extra step is needed. The sponsor's resource on the page is what opens the sharing.

Per-fanflet share toggle. You can also share any fanflet's analytics with a connected sponsor manually, even if none of their resources are on it. Open the fanflet editor, go to the Settings tab, and find the Share analytics with sponsors section. Flip the toggle for the sponsor you want to include.

If a sponsor already has a resource on that fanflet, their row shows as shared and the toggle is locked. Remove their resource block if you want to stop sharing with them.

To stop sharing, remove the sponsor's resource from the fanflet, or turn off their toggle in the Settings tab. The sponsor stops seeing new activity immediately.

What happens when you disconnect

Ending a connection freezes sharing — it does not delete anything. Both you and the sponsor keep the full analytics history up to the disconnect date. New views, clicks, and leads after that date are no longer visible to the sponsor. Nothing is erased.
